Web Mail (what it is and how to use it)
Webmail accounts are included with most web hosting plans
sold by Superteks. The number of accounts you have will depend on
what hosting plan you choose.
WebMail provides Superteks customers with e-mail accounts under a hosted domain. The term "webmail"
refers to e-mail that is accessible on a standard web browser (e.g. Netscape
Navigator or Internet Explorer). This allows customers with domain names to read
their e-mail messages by either using popular POP3 email clients (such as
Microsoft Outlook or Qualcomm Eudora) or by logging into WebMail under their
domain (that is, www.<domain_name>/webmail). E-mail messages can also be stored
and filed online through the WebMail interface or brought down to the local
computer by using the e-mail client application--such as Microsoft Outlook,
Outlook Express or
Qualcomm Eudora.
WebMail's Interface
The user interface is completely user-friendly with easy-to-use on-line help.
Further, the WebMail interface is designed for use by everyone from the e-mail
newbie to the small business owner. POP3 e-mail users within a domain are able
to access and send e-mail messages from any web browser. They can also store
messages on the mail server instead of always downloading to a local desktop
e-mail client.
Main Features
Some of WebMail's main features include:
- Send e-mail messages to multiple
recipients
- On-line address book
- Send and receive up to five file
attachments per e-mail message
- Automatically add a personal
signature to outgoing e-mail messages
- Create unique personal e-mail
folders to help you archive or categorize your messages

Accessibility |
Accessible from any Internet Browser anywhere |
Mail is downloaded to a specific machine the
client is loaded on. So you can only view new and old mail when you
sit at that computer.
(Note: Any mail not yet downloaded is viewable with WebMail. This is
good for checking your email at night, when on vacation, or on business
trips.) |

Mail Storage |
You can only store a limited amount of mail so
must clean out your mail box on a regular basis. |
Virtually Unlimited Storage and Organizational
capability |

Ease of Use |
Web mail is simple and easy to use. But
it is slower to use because you must browse through web pages. The
speed of this will be affected by your computer speed and your Internet
Access speed. |
An email client (Outlook, Outlook Express,
etc.) is generally easy to use, has much more organizational and filter
features, and is much faster because all the mail resides on your local
computer. |
